A Message from the Cal-DEFA President

On behalf of the Cal-DEFA Board of Directors and as President of the Association, I welcome you to our online community!

One of our goals is to preserve a mutually beneficial, enduring relationship among students and active RDAEF’s in California. As your representatives, we are committed to seeking meaningful ways to advocate for our profession, meet your needs as a community and unite our efforts in the name of professionalism and mutual respect. I urge you to become an active member and share in the exciting activities and opportunities this organization has planned to offer to members.

There are a variety of ways you can show your support and play a integral part in our initial and continued success. This includes attending events, staying connected to each other and leadership through our online environment, and of course, offering your support to help RDAEF program students become successful members of the EF community. Through this site you will read about inspiring EF accomplishments, find out about upcoming CE and professional development activities, learn about regional and statewide events, volunteerism and much more.

Wherever you are, at whatever stage of your clinical career you are in, there's something here for you. The Board of Directors and I encourage you to take advantage of all the resources Cal-DEFA has begun to offer its members, from students to active working EFs, to our generous corporate sponsors, and dental professional supporters, every aspect of Cal-DEFA has been carefully designed to ensure we are all actively supporting one another and fully represented within the regulatory and political environment.

We are excited about the direction and future of the association and look forward to serving our EF community for many years to come.

The Privilege of Membership

  • Professional Member

    Currently licensed RDAEF granted all member privileges including local, regional and statewide events at a discounted rate. Receives special member-rate for our online courses and free continuing education opportunities. Subscription to association publications, eBulletins and employment network. Eligible to participate in association fellowship and mastership programs for professional recognition.

  • Student Member

    Enrolled students of a board-approved registered dental assistant in extended functions program (upon verification by program) joins for 50% less than professional level membership and extends for one additional year after licensure as an EF. Access to association publications, eBulletins and special student resources for state board written examination preparation. Student members remain at the 50% discounted annual dues for two years; third year renewal membership fee increases to professional level rate.

  • Supporting Member - Corporate

    Colleges, corporations, and dental supply representatives all support the EF community; the supporting member category is available to our corporate partners and those who are not licensed as an RDAEF but support the advancement of the allied dental healthcare workforce.
